Alpine Skateboard Comp Next Saturday!

Alpine is holding it's second annual skateboard Comp at Wakefield June 6th. Our friends over at Convoy skateboards will be helping out, and it should be a great time. Come out and support local skateboarding. Wakefield is a great park located in Burke VA! Intermediate and Advanced divisions will be held. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Never Summer Longboards Re-Stock

2 New models from Never Summer arrived in store yesterday. It seems that everyone today needs to have a longboard for transportation. Above is the Eclipse Model. It is 47" X 10" with a 35-37.5" wheels base. It is a big cruiser that can be taken down steep, high switch backs and comes with Paris Trucks.
Below is the Ransom. it is a smaller Pin that has a slightly softer, more forgiving flex pattern. it is 37" X 9" with a 28.25" -29.25" wheel base.

Skate Comp Pics Finally Here!

Last year, we finally broke down and PAID someone to do our landscaping. Usually I go out and pick the cheapest plants, that don't look at all good together, and kill 1/2 of them in 6 months. So here we are coming to the end of our first year with the new landscaping, and I must say it still looks nice. It raining for the past 6 weeks help out alot as well.
It would be really great if the all powerful Loudoun County would allow me a bigger sign. This little one is hard to see from the road. But we all know that won't happen. They are too busy taking away our road front and raising our taxes. hahaha....(It's funny because it's true).

Flip for the kids

It's hard out there for a kid if their looking for a dope skateboard that is actually "good". That's why we at Alpine always try and keep great shapes and graphics for the kids with size 5 feet who want to slay it too. The 2 decks on the right,from FLIP, are 7.0 and are built just the same as the bigger models.

Rob Roskopp Re Issue White

Damn this deck is dope. When Sean at NHS said he had a white dipped Roskopp, I knew right away we had to have it. The Re-issue market is hot right now, and there are some SICK decks showing up weekly. We were only able to grab one of these, so if you are a collector, come on in. Next week we should have Jason Jessee autographed decks. Thanks NHS for bringing me back to graphics that I loved.

Alpine's Coach Pitch Team

Well here they are. The "Killer Bees". I saw Johan put up a pic of his squad, so I though I should do the same. (I think we could take them in a 3 game series, but that's just me).
I am in my 3rd year of coaching these groms, and they are slaying the competition. We are proud to sponsor a team in Herndon's youth league. I am lucky enough to have a great support staff, and kids that listen to me 41% of the time. Pretty solid if you ask me.

Kneissl's back?

A funny thing happened when I opened my inbox today. I got an email saying Kneissl's back! What? We used to sell these skis in the 70's and early 80's. I always thought they were cool, because the graphics, when put together, made the kneissl star. This was unheard of back then. Asym Graphics on the red,white,and blue star. But since their heyday, I have seen them pop up here and there, and the company has changed hands more than a few times.
What the industry needs now is another ski company. With no growth, and companies falling on harder times, it might not be the best time to re introduce this brand. Or maybe I'm wrong, and this is the perfect time. Hell, what do I know anyway.

Wakefield Skate Comp this Saturday

Let's hope our rainy april and March will finally come to an end. This Saturday at Wakefield park is the season first Inline Comp of the season. Should be a lot of fun. Matt and I will be there setting up around 11. Sign-ups start at 12 and the comp will be at 1. Same as before-intermediate gets 2-60 second runs. Advance will be divided in a jam format with the winners of each group going head to head. If time and weather allows, we hold a best trick contest.

Plan B drops One Off Series

Plan B actually made a board series that is somewhat individual. We saw this with the first run of decks they made, then everything else has been cookie cutter. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It's safe, it works, and it sells. Look for these within the next 2 weeks here at alpine.
