Set Ups of the minute with the Family

Ho Ho Ho. 3 Completes for the Family. Little Luca is getting a first board and its a Darkstar mini complete. Dominic got set up with an Alpine deck and Phantom trucks. He threw on some Kontrol wheels and BOOM! New Set up. Antony (AKA Tony), on the far right, got the re issue per welinder. I had this deck back in the day and I loved it. He hooked it up with Indy 169's and some Orangatang yellow formula wheels. This is an Alpine Favorite. Merry Christmas !

Chad Carothers of Index Ink

We are proud to see Chad get some recognition in the breaking barriers news letter put out by index. His art is super rad, and we will be doing our next shop deck in collaboration with Chad and index. Here's the write up.

Chad Carothers is the creative inspiration behind Index Ink. He's influenced by the likes of cartoons, music, skateboarding, pop culture and anything else that catches his eye...Chad Carothers ventured out to California, leaving behind the East Coast to create his own world of make believe and transform it into a reality. His unique style and crazy imagination has led him to where he is today. He is well known for his custom painted surfboards for industry leader "Lost Surfboards" and for his exclusive art pieces for some of the top companies and individuals in the Action Sports Industry.

Easter Shoe Hunt-This Weekend!!!

So the economy is in the dumper, retail isn't slashing prices just yet and you're going through skate shoes faster than you can ever remember. Why shouldn't you? Skating is the one thing you can still do that isn't connected to the current global bummer. So with a little help from my friends South of the North is going to get you squared away this spring season. Yep for those of you in the Washington D.C. metro area South of the North presents
The Easter Shoe Hunt
Saturday, April 11th 2009
Start time: 1pm ET
End Time: When the kicks are all gone
Now is the time to twitter your way into some new kicks. On Saturday April 11th. South of the North will reveal on twitter the location of a number golden shoe eggs around the D.C. metro area. Rockville to Reagan national Airport, Bridgespot to Bethesda, Sterling to Springfield. the locations will be revealed one per hour on twitter.com/southofthenorth.
So if you want the free shoes and maybe a few extras follow these steps:

1. Sign up to follow South of the North on twitter
2. That means sign up to follow along here - twitter.com/southofthenorth
3. Check updates starting at 1 pm ET on Saturday April 11th.
4. Get the location of where one pair of shoes will be given away each hour.
5. Get on your skateboard, bike, metro or car and try to be the first one to get the shoes.
6. Find the golden egg either held by yours truly, a friend of South of the North or simply...it might be hidden in plain sight.
I know you're saying to yourself "how in this crummy economy can this be happening?" Simply put we've had some very generous companies pitching in to help out ... including

New Index Inc. Graphics

Chad has done it again. 2 great graphics on the new line Index Inc decks. The top deck is Chad's interpretation of the Iphone. It is sure to be a top seller, especially in this tech driven area. Below is Big Black Phenomenon, with a slight variation on the 2nd word. These decks should be arriving at Alpines doorstep next week.
