Everyone's favorite blogger stopped in the other day and posed for a quick shot for the blog. You might be wondering why Jonny hasn't been doing as much blogging as of late. well the answer my friends is that today Jonny is going to be a dad again for a third time. So big congrats go out to him and his beautiful wife.

Happy New Year

I had to start off the new year by taking some turns. After a super hectic December, sometimes you just have to get away with some friends and do what you love. It was a cool 35 degrees as we prepared to head up to good old liberty resort. The sticks were put outside after a hard days work on Sunday.
We loaded Tyler's Murano and headed up to the mountain finding the eagles game on the radio. He has XM, but with the new merger, we thought we could get Serius as well. But no dice for us. So it was old Vinyl station and a delicious sam adams winter for me. (Ty was driving)We met up with everyone favorite infoweb blogger, jonny burns, as he was able to sneak out of his casa and make some much needed turns. Check out his blog southofthenorth.com for his great insight in the sction sports community. (Shameless plug)All in all it was a great night. Liberty has done a great job of keeping snow on the mountain, and there were tons of people there for a Sunday night. A good sign that skiing and snowboarding is alive and well. So get out there and have some fun. Ride a chairlift and enjoy riding for a night.

KRUX Kickflip challenge results!

It was a beautiful day for the Krux Kickflip challenge. This was the first time Alpine sponsored this event and it couldn't have gone off any smoother. Lot of people competed, but the strong winner was Stephen Jefferson with a whopping 107 kickflips. He had speed and style on each and every one. Here he is collecting his prize batch of 2 sets of Krux trucks, some t's, a free pair of Lakai shoes, and a DVD.
Dylan Anderson had a methodical approach and stunned everybody with 73 kickflips. We were very lucky to have Chris from Convoy skateboards in attendance. And need we mention our outstanding judge Jonny Burns? Perhaps you've heard of him. He's a big time blogger for Fuel.tv and Southofthenorth.com

After the kickflipping was over we decided to have a high ollie contest. Jonas Durney (Newest rider for Convoy), managed a sweet 6 deck ollie to capture the prize.
Alpine would like to thank everyone who came out, and especially Krux for helping out skateboarders everywhere with this fun comp.

Quiksilver U-Ramp Jacket

Somebody I know might love the camera more than yours truly. Jonny B, famous southofthenorth.com blogger, stopped in yesterday to hook up his skateboard. We couldn't let him leave without a picture for the blog. JB is shown here wearing Quiksilver U Ramp jacket. This jacket is 5,000-5,000,with critical taped seams, and the low low price of $150. JB also loves Mervin MFG, so he grabbed everyones new favorite board, the T Rice with MAGNETRACTION. Perched on the face of this boy wonder is Anon's Figment goggle in red bandanna. This goggle is great because it comes with a back up set of orange lenses.
