Aragon at Wakefield with Razors team

If you were there, it was a great night. Alpine brought the Razors team to Wakefield for an incredible evening of skating. Our good friend Jon Thorpe took some pics of Aragon killing it and tagged us in them. Have to say, these are pretty sick shots. Thanks to everyone who came out! More pics soon.

Wakefield Skate Comp this Saturday

Let's hope our rainy april and March will finally come to an end. This Saturday at Wakefield park is the season first Inline Comp of the season. Should be a lot of fun. Matt and I will be there setting up around 11. Sign-ups start at 12 and the comp will be at 1. Same as before-intermediate gets 2-60 second runs. Advance will be divided in a jam format with the winners of each group going head to head. If time and weather allows, we hold a best trick contest.

KRUX Kickflip challenge results!

It was a beautiful day for the Krux Kickflip challenge. This was the first time Alpine sponsored this event and it couldn't have gone off any smoother. Lot of people competed, but the strong winner was Stephen Jefferson with a whopping 107 kickflips. He had speed and style on each and every one. Here he is collecting his prize batch of 2 sets of Krux trucks, some t's, a free pair of Lakai shoes, and a DVD.
Dylan Anderson had a methodical approach and stunned everybody with 73 kickflips. We were very lucky to have Chris from Convoy skateboards in attendance. And need we mention our outstanding judge Jonny Burns? Perhaps you've heard of him. He's a big time blogger for Fuel.tv and Southofthenorth.com

After the kickflipping was over we decided to have a high ollie contest. Jonas Durney (Newest rider for Convoy), managed a sweet 6 deck ollie to capture the prize.
Alpine would like to thank everyone who came out, and especially Krux for helping out skateboarders everywhere with this fun comp.

Wakefield Skate Comp

Wakefield's First skateboard comp in almost 2 years went off great. A big thanks must first of all go out to CONVOY Skateboards for showing up-donating prizes and helping out with the judging. The skating was great and everyone had a great time.

The Intermediate group was large with 20 kids participating. It was a tight race, but when it came down to it, there was a clear winner.
  1. Ryan Herron
  2. Brad Ellwood
  3. Nathaniel Chen
  4. Kevin Willsher
  5. Greg Russell
The Advanced division was skating strong. After 2 90 second runs each a jam session was scheduled, but with a storm approaching, it was an all out pull the best trick with everyone on the course.
Advanced results
  1. Evan Grice
  2. Tyler Vitello
  3. Reid Mene
  4. Nathan Dally
  5. Matt Robic

Wakefield Skate Comp Nov 10

The Final Inline Competition of the season happened yesterday at the Wakefield skate park . Even though it was cold as a mother, there were some serious hammers being thrown. Greg G's monster disaster sweaty took best trick of the contest. It took him multiple trys, but when he finally stuck it, it was worth the wait. The intermediate division showed some great skater with some tremendous promise. It broke down like this:
  1. Ella Mae Meckley
  2. Drew Blankenship
  3. Matt Brown
  4. Tyler Mator-Parkinson
Ella Mae was slaying the rail with sweaty's.souls, mizous, and top acids. After winning this division she now has bumped herself up to advanced.
The advanced round was 30 minutes of amazing skating. The final 6 wereDaniel Breuer (cat food),Greg Gazdowicz,Bear phillips,Eddie Chung,Dustin Watson,Jeff Phang. After a small break they were given 5 minutes to throw down all they had. The course was cleared and after 5 minutes, they were given five more, because the hammers were just that good. The Breakdown is as follows:
  1. Dustin Watson
  2. Bear Phillips
  3. Eddie Chung
  4. Jeff Phong
Thanks to everyone who came out. It was great to see the fruitboot community coming out in full force. I would also like to thank Wakefield park for being so accommodating and allowing us to run an amazing comp.
