Loaded Fattail Longboard for 2013
A little extra girth never hurt anyone. At least that was the approach when it came time to revamp the design of the Pintail. Loaded wanted to modernize this classic concept so it could keep up with evolutions in riding and performance.
The Fattail was designed for pumping, carving, pedestrian slalom, freestyle and generally any situation where lively, energetic lines are on the menu. Increased concave locks your feet in against g-forces, while the topmounted and cambered platform provides energetic performance in and out of each carve. The width of the deck has been redistributed while maintaining subtle tapering near the trucks to provide both ample leverage and awareness of foot position while powering through turns. The formerly vestigial tail has received the silicone treatment for improved functionality in both freestyle tricks and surf-style shredding. The Fattail is also equipped with a slight nose kick for manuals and shuvits.
Stop by and check this as well as all of the other Great longboards Alpine stocks from loaded. This one was built by Pat with Green bear trucks and 70mm Yellow 4 president O tangs.

The micro drop platform ensures you never lose your place on the board. With a Tomahawk under your feet, the possibilities are endless.

Black Label Emergency decks are on the wall
We have always dabbled a little in Black label skateboards. We are now officially carrying more of them then we ever had in the past. I can't get enough of what John Lucero does. Never mind that he has always been my favorite skater, and I think his artwork is great. The team is solid, the wood is good, and the shapes are SUPER RAD. Take these 2 Emergency decks above. The Nash is a throwback graphic from his sims days and Lance re did this art. The Grigley is an exact replica of his old board with a much more user friendly shape. Get one of these under your feet, and you will be stoked. Weather has finally turned so get out and ride. Support your local skateshop.

The Jeff Kendall Graphiti Re-Issue from Santa Cruz and Dan Smelik
Re-issue decks are simply amazing. They inspire a strong sense of nostalgia from the mid to late 80's--a time when skateboarding was blowing up and capturing the lives of kids everywhere. This Jeff Kendall graffiti is no exception. When I first saw this deck, it brought back nothing of fond memories of a great friend, Dan Smelik.
Dan is the guy that reinvigorated my love of skating. Sure, I had a blue plastic board in the 70's, but we lived on a dirt road in the sticks, and there really wasn't anywhere for me to skate. One day when we where hanging out at his house after school, Dan asked me if I wanted to skateboard. I hadn't touched a skateboard since that blue plastic one. He pulled out two super rad decks and we started skating. Dan had just moved to Virginia from Santa Cruz, California and he had a red 7 ply Santa Cruz special edition; his brother a blue 5 ply of the same model. I thought these were the coolest decks in the world.
Dan and I skated every chance we could, solidifying my love of the sport.
Rocket Invert at the underground parking garage in downtown Fairfax, with what else? A Kendall World Blowing up deck!
I am riding Dan's brother Neil's Blender coffee deck in this shot.
He built this hilarious little wedge ramp we would pull out in the street and do wacky tricks off of. Here is Dan with a nice 180 plant. Making it look so steezy! That's the SC special edition deck. SICK!
I don't think Dan rode anything but Santa Cruz decks, since this was where he spent a good chunk of his childhood. The last 2 decks I remember him having were the Kendall World Blowing Up and this Kendall graffiti. So now that I am able, Dan, I am sending you this Personalized Kendall signed deck for your wall. It's is the very least I can do for the man that introduced me to my first skateboard!
Dan and me hanging out at PVI before we went out to do some street skating.
So, those of you that are new to the sport, those of you who have never stopped skating, and those who are rediscovering the love, stop into Alpine and check out all the amazing re-issue wood we have in stock. Powell Peralta, Sims,Vision, and of course, Santa Cruz. Get one for your wall, or get one to skate. And as you can see, they make great gifts too!

Throwback Wednesday? Sure. Why not. #skullskates
My boy Dan built this ramp back in the mid 80's. It was a super cool wedge design. Check out that sweet handy work. It was pretty stable and great for pulling some RAD 180 street verts. It also acted as a pretty good launch. Back then we had to take pics with a real camera and film and have it developed at the local Peoples drug. Oh yeah. The way back machine is going WAY BACK.
This was my first cheap deck. I bought it behind fairfax surf shop in the shed where they had all the cheap wood. I never knew if this was a regular or goofy model as it came both ways. But it was bright yellow and no one else had one, so I thought it was pretty rad. And yes those are copers on my rear Indy 169's.
Damn I loved the 80's
