The Alpine Ski Shop 6th Annual Charity Golf Event is Over.

A huge thanks to everyone that came out and helped us raise money to fight the Dreaded ALS. The "Bobby G" cup was up for grabs this year, and a new team with some solid players came in and got their names on the trophy. The Team of Ryan Decker,Greg Johnson,Robb Kiley, and Robert Nuon are the proud winners this year.
We were extremely lucky to have many industry friends, Elon and Radford Alumni and Shop friends come out to to River Creek and hit some balls. Thanks again to everyone who came out and we look forward to another great outing next season.

Tyler and I would like to wish Everyone a safe and prosperous New Year. We are hoping for lots of cold weather and many snow days ahead for everyone. We are extremely happy to announce that we have been voted retailer of the year for the southeast by SIA (Snowsports Industries of America). It is an honor to be among the very best ski and snowboard shops in the country. We can't do this without our outstanding staff, amazing reps, and customers who have supported us throughout the years.

Alpine's Charity Golf Re Cap

 Alpine Ski Shop held it's 4th annual Charity Golf Tournament this past Monday at beautiful Hidden Creek Country Club in Reston VA. We had a great turnout of Industry friends and lots of our great customers. This annual event benefits our Local ALS chapter and we are proud to say that we raised over $2000 during this outing. It is for a great cause and we are thankful to have friends to come out, have a fun time, and raise money.
This years winners were also last years winners. It's Team Ott, and they are unstoppable. This winning team consisted of Danny Ott, Bryan Henry, Mike Juliano, and Sean Fritts. Big congrats go out to these guys, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next season.
Representatives from such brands as Burton,Smith,686,Oakley,Nordica,Under armour, and ride, and union to name a few were on hand to participate. Also we had SIA show up to field a couple of teams. And lastly KIND bar was there giving out it's wonderful product. Thanks to all the action sports industry folks who partner with us to make this event work. 

Atomic Boots Sneak Peek 2012/13

 Above is the world famous Atomic Hawx 90 mens boots. it's coming back virtually unchanged for next season. This past seasons alternate colorway was green. This season it's going to be this awesome yellow. Still a great fit at the same 100mm last.
Below is a new Live Fit boot. These are part of the freeride collection and will come with a 102 last and 2 buckles. The white/black is a 60 flex, and the red is an 80 flex. These are going to be hot.

Line skis 2012 sneak Peek

WHAT?? A dope new graphic on one of my favorite skis, the Prophet 90. Notice the new prophet 98. Scared of a 100 waist? Get the 98. ha.
New twins look sick. Graphics that pop on proven winners.
New step up graphics nad a new design on the afterbang. Lots of pop on the bases this season.

Ride Snowboards Preview 2012

Here are just a couple quick shots of some of the upcoming products from ride snowboards. There are some cool new bindings at the high end coming with rides patented new micro disc. Also look for ride to continue with the DH limited program. 2 new decks to drop in october and november of next season.

Mmmm. Beers, capitaaah Boards, and Union Binders. Great stuff. Union Binders look amazing (like they always do), And capita continues to wow us with a graphic story you have to see to believe.

SIA stopped by the store....

MC and the crew from SIA stopped by the store to film an upcoming segment on "Shipping skis and snowboards". We have been shipping gear for people over the last couple of years with great success. Burton Custom Binding 2010 Green Preview

I am a sucker for anything clear or green. This little gem happens to have both of these fine qualities. So therefore it will be on Alpine's shelves next season. The Custom is a staple in the Burton line for good reason. it's light,comfortable and affordable. Be sure to check these out come August of this year.

Lib Tech skis Preview 2010

4 new models from the banana company. Alpine loves lib, and is proud to have the skis on our wall. Great graphics on some sick skiing skis. Model names to be given later.

Last Night at Batistas hole in the wall

Well it was dad's last time in vegas so we had to go out to our favorite italian restaurant, Batista's hole in the wall. The line to get a cab outside the hotel was long, but it moved pretty quick. Everything in vegas moves pretty quick. They know how to move lines. All the menus are written on the wall and as you can see they all come with all you can drink house wine.

So we saddled up to the bar and ordered some cocktails. It's a small operation, but the service was top notch.

I can remember this guy from my first trip to this restaurant back in 1988. He has always been a staple and comes by your table, asks where you are from, and plays a ditty. He may be old, but his fingers fly on his musical contraption.

Mmmmmmm, delicious all you can drink wine!

All in all it was a great evening.

We were extremely lucky to be met for dinner by none other than Peter Clifford. You may know him as one of the greatest reps ever to grace these halls at Vegas. Thanks again Batisitas for a fabulous meal.

Sunny Las Vegas Rossi Preview 2010

Well, here I am in sunny las vegas, and Who do I run into, but every ones favorite Rossi rags rep, Jeff Schwanninger. We were able to chat for a few minutes before I had to go to my first appointment with Rossi hard goods.Here is rossignol's new kids deck graphic. Pretty clean. New jeremy jones with a light rocker and everyones favorite magnetractionSome new rossi binding. Didn't get the scoop on these yet, Just thought it was a cool color.

1st deck shown here is the freestyle re tox. I didn't grab the name of the second. New rossi ski lineup is extremely clean. From left to right, the white ski is the classic 80 ti and the black is the classic 70. Skis remain pretty much unchanged. New is the silver avenger 82 ti and the gold one is the avenger 82 carbon. These will be taking the place of the z series of skis. graphically they look way better. The big ski on the right is the S7 Barras at 145/115/123. This is your backcountry monster.

We already spoke of the Barras, so the black ski is the S3 Koopman at 128/98/118. You might remeber this ski as it was worn by the winner of the 1/2 comp at the x games a couple of days ago. The white ski is the S2 Howell at 122/92/115.

Union Binders 09

Vegas day one. What a day. What looks good you ask? Union Bindings are looking amazing. Check out the red hot union force coming in at 199. There is also an orange Cadet DLX. More pics to follow.
